Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) stands as one of America's most dynamic rural healthcare systems. From our modest beginnings in 1982 with just 90 employees, we've grown into a comprehensive network employing over 2,400 staff members and supporting more than 200 physicians and advanced practice providers.
Our Expanding Healthcare System
Our integrated network includes an 86-bed hospital, 35 physician clinics, 6 nursing homes, a residential care center, and comprehensive home health, hospice, medical equipment, transportation, and pharmacy services. We proudly serve over 130,000 residents across eight counties in Southwest and West Central Missouri, nestled in the stunning natural beauty of Missouri.

Transformational Growth Underway
We are currently executing an ambitious $100 million expansion and remodeling project (completion by end of 2026) that includes:
• All-new private patient rooms
• ICU capacity increase to 16 beds
• Emergency department expansion from 12 to 29 beds
• Cardiac catheterization capability doubling to 2 suites
• LDRP room growth from 6 to 9 rooms
• Additional surgical suite with modern pre/post-operative areas
Additionally, our new CMH Dialysis Center will be operational by the end of 2025.

Company History
CMH was created by a grass roots effort of the community of Bolivar, MO and opened in 1982. One thing has remained the same since opening, and that is continued growth. We continue to be an independent health system, employing more than 2200 employees and having 100+ physicians on staff.
CMH has broken ground on a large hospital expansion that is expected to be complete by 2026, with completion of remodeling of existing space to be completed by 2027.
