Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu. We also operate Te Korowai-Wh?riki, a large mental health campus based at Porirua.

About the role
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, Capital and Coast District Health Board is seeking applications from Specialist Anaesthetists for fixed-term vacancies we currently have available. We have a number of positions available of varying time periods. Clinical work will encompass anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialties, preoperative assessment of patients, involvement in acute post operative pain management, and participation in an on-call roster. A challenging, tertiary level, case-mix is offered but can be tailored to the individuals past experience and areas of interest.
The department has an active education programme that includes Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists fellowship training for 20 trainees, continuing education for specialists and participation in an on-site, high-fidelity simulation training suite (The Wellington Regional Centre for Simulation and Skills Education). The research and education centre provides opportunity to pursue research interests. Skills and experience
Applicants should be Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or have an equivalent specialist qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
