Oversees the department of anesthesiology to ensure the efficient operation of anesthesia services. Develops, implements and maintains anesthesia policies and procedures. Manages department operations to provide efficient anesthesia services to patients. Selects, trains and assesses a staff of anesthesia technicians and nurses. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.

Must have a Master's Degree in Nursing, Anesthesia, or related area. Must have graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Must have five years of experience in anesthesia practice and management. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles and techniques of anesthesia and health care. Meets Board of Nursing standards for practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Must have current certification in advanced cardiac life support and neonatal resuscitation. Provide leadership and direction for the clinical and business operations of anesthesia services to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, high patient satisfaction, financial stewardship and the development of services according to the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Sanford Health. Integrates education, research, management, leadership & consultation into clinical roles. Work in collaboration with anesthesiologists and independently to provide anesthesia services.
